WORKING WOMEN'S HOSTEL
One working women's hostel is functioning at Khammam headquarters with a strength of (50) inmates of the working women who came from different places and they are being provided lodging and boarding facilities as payment of charges prescribed by the department from time to time.
ATROCITIES REVIEW COMMITTEE
Established the district level committee to review atrocities on women as per G.O.Rt.No.316, WD&CW (Progs.) Department, dt.26.09.95 under the Chairmanship of District Collector to avoid the problems of atrocities on women like demands of dowry, ill-treatment for dowry and outrage on modesty of women and rape etc.
FAMILY AND LEGAL COUNSELING CENTRE
It
is a part of atrocity committee and connect with
the office of the Project Director, District Women
& Child Development Agency, Khammam, one advocate
and one family counselor were appointed by the
District Collector/Chairman, W&CDA, Khammam
to deal with the family counseling center from
May, 1999. So far (185) cases relating to atrocities
on women, dowry harassment/deaths have been registered
with the family counseling center. Out of which
(175) cases were settled through counseling and
(10) cases are under counseling as on 11.07.2005.
ADOPTION CELL
A District Adoption Cell was opened to prevent the sale of girl children. The Government has constituted a District Level Committee chaired by the District Collector and Project Director as the convenor.
